We’re proud to share that Drawing 25 (2022) by Nnena Kalu, acquired by Tate in 2022, is now on view at Tate Britain’s display ‘Modern and Contemporary British Art: The State We’re In: 2000–Now‘.

Created live in the gallery during To all the Kings who have no Crowns (Carl Freedman Gallery, 2022), the pair of drawings reflect Nnena’s powerful, physical process, working rhythmically across two works at once, the second an echo of the first.

Built through repetition, movement and sound, these works are layered, immersive, and alive with energy.
