Babajide Brian: DYCP Artist Talk, Showcase and New Website

On Thursday 5 June 2025, ActionSpace artist Babajide Brian wrapped up his Arts Council Develop Your Creative Practice, with an artist talk, a public showcase, and the launch of his brand new website (babajidebrian.co.uk). To mark the occasion, Babajide led a public talk about his DYCP journey at Studio Voltaire. He spoke in detail about the evolution of his practice with mentor Ali Eisa and Artist Facilitator Louis Caseley, who has supported Jide in developing his website and printmaking sessions at the East London Printmakers.

The grant, also supported in-depth printmaking training, research trips to football stadiums in London and across the UK, multiple inspiring gallery and studio visits with artists ranging from Alvaro Barrington, to Ed Gray, and mentoring with artist Ali Eisa.

The event followed a public showcase of his work on Leake Street on 31 May, where Babajide presented new screen prints, giclée prints, and wearable designs. His recent work is rooted in football culture, particularly the Premier League, with intricate portraits and t-shirt designs capturing the energy, identity, and passion of football fandom across the UK.

New Website Launch

As this chapter concludes, Babajide has launched his artist website: babajidebrian.co.uk. The site showcases his current work and will serve as a platform to share future projects, prints, and exhibitions.

Babajide’s artist talk and the DYCP project all reflect his clear vision, artistic commitment, and dedication to growth. ActionSpace is delighted to support his journey and excited to see what comes next.
