Abigail joined ActionSpace in 2019. Abigail leads all marketing and communications at ActionSpace.
Lisa Brown
Associate Artist
Lisa has a BA Hons Fine Art Sculpture from Chelsea College of Art and an MA from Winchester College of Art. She joined Action Space in 2004 as a volunteer with the Young People’s Group. Lisa runs the Cockpit studio projects on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Visit Lisa’s website.
Rebekah Cameron
Artist Facilitator
Rebekah has a BA Hons 1st from Chelsea College of Art. She joined Action Space as a volunteer in 2004 and started running projects in 2008. Rebekah runs our Tuesday studio project at Cockpit Arts.
Louis Caseley
Artist Facilitator
Louis runs our Emerging Artists programme on Thursdays at Studio Voltaire. He first worked with ActionSpace through a commission with art & mental health charity ‘Hospital Rooms,’ where he works as a project curator. Louis coordinated the commissioning of Linda Bell to run workshops and produce a permanent artwork for Springfield Hospital in South London.
He went on to volunteer with the Studio Voltaire team and provide support on additional projects with Pardip Kapil, leading to an assistant facilitation role and eventually to the lead facilitator role for the Thursday group.
Louis has previously worked as a workshop facilitator, art technician, and illustrator.
Flora Bain
Programme Manager
Flora joined ActionSpace as Programme Manager in 2022. She worked in the gallery and museum sector for 15 years before this, most recently at The Mosaic Rooms. She was drawn to ActionSpace by her interest in opening up the contemporary art sector to all, and by the talent of ActionSpace artists.
Sheryll Catto
Artistic director & CEO
ActionSpace is led by Sheryll Catto, who initially joined as Co-Director in 2008 and became Artistic Director and CEO in September 2023. Sheryll has over 30 years’ experience in the creative sector and a personal and professional interest in championing inclusive arts practices. She regularly contributes to national and international forums on inclusion, creativity, and the transformative power of art.
Shelley Davis
Artist Facilitator
Shelley joined ActionSpace at Studio Voltaire as a Friday volunteer in 2008 and since then has worked as an Artist Facilitator and, as required, a graphic designer.
Neil Debnam
Interim Head of Development
Neil is an independent consultant specialising in fundraising, fundraising strategy, organisational development and business planning for arts and cultural organisations and initiatives.
Nerissa Douglas
Communications & Development Officer
Nerissa has a background in History of Art and Commercial Photography, holding Certificates of Higher Education from the University of Cambridge and Arts University Bournemouth.
Over the past five years, she has worked across a range of sectors in marketing and communications. In 2026, she joined ActionSpace as Communications and Development Officer, bringing together her enthusiasm for visual arts, advocacy, and storytelling to support the organisation’s work.
Charlotte Hollinshead
Head of Artist Development
Charlotte Hollinshead graduated from Central Saint Martins in 1995 with a BA in Fine Art Painting. She is Head of Artist Development at ActionSpace, where she has worked for 30 years. Since 1999, she has led and managed the ActionSpace studio at Studio Voltaire, supporting learning disabled artists to develop their individual art practices. She curates and delivers an extensive programme of commissions, residencies, exhibitions, live events and collaborative projects, and leads the facilitation team supporting Turner Prize winning artist Nnena Kalu. Charlotte devised and manages ActionSpace’s innovative live art programmes, Make It Live and BLOWOUT, providing opportunities for artists to experiment in live practice. Beyond ActionSpace Charlotte has her own participatory art practice, WildCity, working with SEN schools, local communities and cultural institutions. Her work is rooted in accessibility and championing the creativity of the learning disabled community.
Gabrielle Jones
Operations and Impact Officer
Gabrielle joined ActionSpace in 2022 and has an MA in philosophy from Royal Holloway, University of London. Gabrielle co-ordinates the day-to-day operations of the studios and leads on developing our evaluation structure.
Dan Lamont
Deputy director
Dan joined ActionSpace in 2023. He oversees the charity’s finances, operations and governance, working closely with the CEO and Board on strategic planning and organisational oversight.
Before ActionSpace, Dan spent seventeen years at Blast Theory, an interactive performance and artist group, where he managed international touring programmes, and a residency programme for UK and international artists.
Lisa Muten
Artist Facilitator
Lisa runs our Cockpit Monday studio sessions and has previously run the North London Young People’s Group at the Leighton Project, Camden. Lisa has a BA Fine Art degree from Central St Martins, Byam Shaw, and an MA with a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, Teaching & Learning from Kingston University. Emily Rees-Haynes
Artist Facilitator
Emily leads ActionSpace’s Brent studio for emerging artists. Emily has a BFA in Visual Arts and Psychology from the University of Victoria, Canada. She started at ActionSpace in 2015 volunteering with a young people’s project in Kentish Town and then at Studio Voltaire. She has led the Brent studio since 2017. She also has an independent freelance artist practice.
Maisie Rennie-Carter
Pastoral Care Co-ordinator
Maisie has a BA degree in Textiles and has previously supported learning disabled children and adults in schools and play schemes. She joined ActionSpace to help create a safe and supportive environment for learning disabled artists.
Chris Russell
Assistant Facilitator
Chris works as an assistant facilitator at ActionSpace’s Brent studio, after joining as a volunteer in 2025. They studied Fashion Communication, and have a background working in photography and as an art technician.
Anna Skulczuck
Artist Facilitator
Anna started working at the Brent studio as an assistant in 2024 before taking on a facilitating role for one of the studio sessions. She has a BA in Fine Art from Newcastle University and later completed an MA in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University. She also works as an art psychotherapist.

Administrative Assistant
Artist Ian joined ActionSpace as a volunteer in 1997 and became the Administrative Assistant in 1998. Ian is employed under the Access to Work scheme and supports the office team and the studio projects. He is also an ActionSpace artist. Visit Ian’s web page.

Simon Chadwick is a Partner at international law firm, Mishcon de Reya, specialising in art law and the related field of luxury assets. He works with collectors, dealers, auction houses, artists, public and private institutions, and foundations. Before starting his carrier in law, Simon managed a commercial art dealership based in London and Milan for seven years.
Fleur Donnelly-Jackson
Trustee
Fleur Donnelly-Jackson is a Senior Disability Consultant at Business Disability Forum where she provides strategic advice to several large public and private sector organisations. In 2018, she was elected as a local Councillor for Brent Council and currently chairs the Brent Disability Forum. She has worked in campaigning roles for disability charities and as a Volunteer Manager, with a focus on opportunities for disabled people to volunteer, for Leonard Cheshire’s ‘Can Do’ programme and Tate Gallery’s front of house volunteer programme. She chaired Tate’s staff disability network until February 2020. Outside of work, in her downtime, she is a practising artist.
Beth Elliott
Chair
Beth Elliott is the Community Engagement Manager at Cambridge University’s Public Engagement Department. Previously she was Director of Bethlem Gallery for 11 years. She has over 10 years of experience on arts charity boards including Chairing The Bermondsey Artists’ Group and London Arts in Health Forum.
Beth graduated from University of the Arts London, Camberwell in 2002. Since then, she has focussed on creating spaces that encourage a more diverse, equitable and accessible art world. She creates opportunities for artists to develop their practice and encourages dialogue between arts and health communities and the wider public.
Thompson Hall
Trustee
Thompson Hall is a founding member of ActionSpace’s Central London studio. He is an accomplished painter and has exhibited nationally, including Bethlem Gallery, Project Ability and the touring exhibition My Life In London. His work is in many private collections. Thompson has spoken about his artwork and being an artist at several conferences, talks, and workshops, including the Explores Conference at Ikon Gallery, Autograph, and The British Museum, and was invited onto Outside In’s Talking About Art course. Dominique Heyes-Moore

Dominique Heyes-Moore is a Senior Collections and Exhibitions Curator at Tate Museums with an extensive curatorial background for institutions including The Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester and The Garden Museum, London.
Loveday Shewell
Trustee
Loveday Shewell is an accountant who worked as an independent advisor to charities for over 30 years, mostly in the visual arts, on strategy, business planning, finance, and governance. During that time, she worked with Tate, Arts Council, Crafts Council, Camden Arts Centre, Whitechapel Gallery, the Baltic, The Photographers Gallery, Triangle Arts Trust, Project Art Works and many more. She now has volunteer roles as Trustee/Treasurer for small charities, which reflect her interests and concerns.
Jess Starns
Trustee
Jess Starns is an artist whose practice is collaborative, multidisciplinary, and rooted in inclusive arts practice. Her work explores disability, neurodiversity, and histories, with materials and approaches shaped by each project, often through museum and archive research. As a neurodivergent artist with limited dexterity, she is committed to creating new ways of making art that are accessible to themselves and others. Alongside her artistic practice, Jess has worked in museums across learning, interpretation, and disability access roles. Most recently the 2025 Adobe Creative Resident for Inclusive Design at the V&A Museum and current DASH Arts Future Curator at the John Hansard Gallery.
Anthony Spira
Trustee
Anthony is an Art Historian and Curator, currently Director of MK Gallery, Milton Keynes, having previously worked at the Whitechapel Gallery, London and Jeu de Paume, Paris. Recent exhibitions include solo shows of Paula Rego, George Stubbs and the Memphis Group. He has also worked on various projects since 2010 with Project Art Works, an artist-led organisation that makes art with and for people with complex needs and sits on the board of Pagrav, a South Asian dance company.
Kate Squires
Trustee
Kate Squires is an artist, curator and researcher. She is Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at the University of Westminster and is working towards a practice-based PhD (University of the Arts, London). She has a background working in gallery education. Kate was previously Head of Public Programmes at Camden Art Centre and held roles at Chisenhale Gallery and Whitechapel Gallery. She has worked as an artist with different institutions including the British Library, Tate Learning and as a consultant with BACKLIT and Whitstable Biennale. Between 2009 and 2014 Kate was founding Director of Centrum- an artist project space in Berlin. She continues to exhibit internationally often working collaboratively with artist Jenny Dunseath.
Sam Talbot

Sam Talbot is a cultural communications consultant working internationally with leading artists, authors, architects and designers, commercial and public galleries, museums, art fairs, biennials and festivals. Personal and bespoke in his approach, Sam works with a small team to offer services including strategic media planning, media relations, VIP relations, events management and crisis communications.
Linsey Young
Trustee
Linsey Young is a Curator and was previously Curator of Contemporary British Art at Tate, where she was lead curator for three Turner Prize exhibitions, two Duveens commissions and spearheaded the exhibition and publication Women in Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK 1970 – 1990. In 2019 Young commissioned and curated Charlie Prodger’s Scottish pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Her curatorial and research interests are centred around increasing visibility of marginalised practices particularly in relation to feminist, queer and disability arts histories.
