Patrick Moses’ creative practice revolves around the powerful relationship between language, sound, and visual art. His work is a dynamic exploration of how words, their sounds, and their visual forms interact to express personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Patrick uses handwritten text on a variety of surfaces, including painted coloured paper, wallpaper, and fabrics, to record thoughts, events and sounds from his daily life. His interests—ranging from music, video games, and films to cartoons, food, and family—often serve as inspiration. His creative process is deeply influenced by the sounds and rhythms around him. While working, he listens to music and watches videos, capturing words and phrases from his environment. A shop sign, a lyric from a song, or even a line from a film might spark his next idea.

One of the key elements of Patrick’s practice is the way he combines the auditory and visual components of language. He often works with words not just as tools for communication, but as textured objects—shaping, arranging, and layering them to create visual compositions that mirror the flow of sound. The interplay of the shape and sound of words is central to his work, creating pieces that invite the viewer to engage with language in a fresh, immersive way.
